love?
Everybody looks ... Speaking today at Christmas all over it ... the good old love. And told me fits Norbert (Name changed on our soft :-) Vigil that he does not like Christmas because it reminds him that he has again spent a year as a single.
I thought it would fit well to refer to the yogic philosophy on the subject. The text, which there is in yoga on "love" wearing a very clear message: The heart is there to give, not receive.
A simple truth that seems lost evident in our society. Each love story shows people who are waiting to be loved, each partner agency promises the transfer of people, some are infinite love, and since when it is actually the whole Valentine's Day stress?
According to yoga, it is so give love. Type is usually working. For everyone who loved schonmal know that to love someone on one side can be beautiful, but also often associated with challenges. To love someone, even though one is opposed, although it currently denies or undesirable properties when discovered counterpart. The philosophy goes further and says that one should have love for all living things. Norbert
I tell from the philosophy, and he looked at me skeptical .... if he is tried, he did not know yet. I'm trying for some time and I must say that I've never had so much love in my life as today.
So on and let us give love. Not just at Christmas!

a teacher of wisdom and the Buddhist Mettasutta
Arthur Schopenhauer wrote in his prize essay on the basis of morality that he knew no better prayer than that which would include the ancient Indian dramas: May all beings remain free of pain . Most particularly Schopenhauer Stating 'Buddhism, which in its moral not like the Christian, has forgotten the animals . This is shown repeatedly on Christian feast days on which the "solid meat", suffering and death for countless animals, and are more or less in the home center. So it is on Christmas, the Christian "holiday of love and peace". would contrast with the followers of Indian religions, as Arthur Schopenhauer, blaring it differently, because each individual stroke of luck, any favorable outcome, the Brahmanist, or the Buddhists not a Te Deum, but goes on the market and birds bought to to open before the city gates of their cages . Schopenhauer pointed to this, yet another example that, for morality, which also includes animals in their protection, is significant, namely, the large animal hospital in Surat. This hospital was no exception, there were and are in India or other Tierhospitäler, which are maintained mainly by followers of Buddhism related Jain religion. They are examples of ethics as well comes with the most impressive in the Buddhist Mettasutta expressed:
The creatures great and small.
Her body was rough, her body was fine,

Whether visible or out of sight,

in future or present:
there be any ultimate salvation
And her heart good fortune!

life unplugged
We all know certainly the feeling: long days with many obligations, whether professionally or privately, the challenge to get both under one roof. In fact, in the last twenty years, the everyday life of many people have become more complex and faster. We want more and are willing to pay for it too much. We went through the progress of technology has the advantages of networking and mobility, but also their disadvantages.
Perhaps we forget it sometimes, that we are human beings. And as such we are exposed to certain physical and energetic limitations. Stress and stress often lead to the so-called lifestyle diseases, such as circulatory diseases and allergies.
The human body is not a constant speed machine, but by running in a day different levels of performance. These levels are set by the environment and the load-dependent, but are also influenced by diet, regular exercise and regeneration. Getting enough sleep is an important factor.
In the daily routine include high and low phases of the rule. Everyone knows these fluctuations, but not every job or every day routine allows one to accept such variations. From a yogic perspective, it is considered advisable to respect these phases and thus to help maintain the natural circadian rhythm. In some forms of yoga is actually one or even two phases of relaxation proposed to be distributed throughout the day. These phases take 10 to 20 minutes, a time in which one out of the daily pulls, stop all external stimuli and in a resting position does nothing and relaxed. So pull the plug and just let go. Everyday life unplugged.
My experience with these relaxation periods have shown that even a few short minutes of rest, refreshing effect and that, following the rest of the day much more relaxed and balanced runs.
Practical task:
you create a calm atmosphere in which you will not be disturbed by phones, colleagues and visitors. Lie down with your back on a pad, like a blanket, rug, or similar. Close your eyes and hold your body in a relaxed position. Body all body movements and breathe deep and long breaths into the abdomen. If possible, push all thoughts of work or problems aside.
should not be sleeping during this time, but it is not a waking state, it is an intermediate state, which takes you relatively rapidly in a regeneration state.
felt after 10 to 20 minutes, slowly move the body again, only the fingers and toes, then hands and feet, then arms and legs and stretch like the morning after waking up and lounging. Then open your eyes and even a small Moment to pause before you re-dedicate yourself from reality.
Note: The practical exercises on this blog are always exercise at your own risk and do not replace the guidance of personal attention in yoga classes. The exercises are always run in a warmed-up and exercises suitable condition. Physical illnesses (eg, diseases) or specific individual requirements (eg current or permanent physical limitations) is before a practice run with a doctor's practice to be clarified. Abdul Helal is not responsible for the execution of the exercise and their physical or mental Consequences, the responsibility lies with the practitioner explicitly.

Brian Saunders A Place In Greece Year 2
to Arthur Schopenhauer: the Wisdom Buddha
.
Buddhism is a very deep philosophical religion. He is far more than just a philosophy, for he is - as the Buddha pointed out very clearly - a doctrine of redemption:
Just as the sea has only one taste, the salt, so also has this theory .. . just a taste: that of redemption.
(Anguttara Nikaya 8,19,16. Quoted in H. von Glasenapp, the wisdom of the Buddha, p.110)
why it was useless for the Buddha, yes a waste of time to deal with matters not that objective, namely, the overcoming of suffering, . Serve In a parable he had explained very understandable:
If someone were to say: "Not before I will lead the sublime to the holy life, until he told me ' forever the world 'or' not eternal is the world `...", so he would die before the Perfect One would have told him.
Suppose a man would hit by a poison dart and his family had been summoned a doctor. The man said: "I would rather not be pulled out this arrow until I know the man who wounded me, and I know how he is, from what caste and family ... he is and how to raise the bow, the bowstring, the arrow is through my wound was taught. " Before the man could have seen it all, he had long been dead.
Mag one or the other of these ... Views exist or not exist, at least there are birth, old age, death and suffering to their destruction in this life I preach. So you like what I have said, declared that, however, I have not been declared as unacceptable explained. And why did not I explain? Because it is not useful, because it is not the holy life and is not renunciation of the world, to dispassion, to knowledge, leads to Nirvana.
(Majjhima Nikaya 63rd Quoted in H. von Glasenapp, path to enlightenment, p.69)
The philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer is in essence a doctrine of redemption, and as the Buddha was Schopenhauer (more than any other major Western philosopher) from the suffering of this world from. For that reason alone there are an amazing correspondence between Schopenhauer's philosophy and Buddhism. Schopenhauer was aware, as he described himself and his followers as Buddhists .

Madonna Yoga - Get into the groove
A yoga evening of a very different way you can on Saturday, 24 October 2009 to do: There will be the next Madonna's yoga. An exceptional and unique event that combines yoga with music by Madonna.
Yoga is an ancient Indian tradition, the body exercises with breathing, relaxation and meditation combined. Madonna is a superstar for over 25 years in the pop business: your interest in yoga has the late 90s triggered a yoga boom in the U.S.. This yoga-music evening brings together both: yoga exercises for strengthening and relaxation - And choreography to music by Madonna. This is the fun does not come off badly.
I myself have developed this yoga, with the intention to combine two of my favorite activities (yoga and music) and sometimes in addition to regular yoga classes have a way to yoga to lead to another level.
First we come up with yoga and music in the right mood, dancing, and we experiment with the elements of yoga and dance. Afterwards, the participants celebrate together on the legendary Madonna Mania Party further to the Schwuz where I am under the name DJ Abdul Beyond responsible for the music. Music makes the people come together.

Converting A Washer To A Coin Operated Unit
A better world
Once I asked a participant whether yoga would be self-centered. Every week we deal with ourselves, rarely with others. I would like to share
an experience from my current schedule with you: It was early in the morning, I made the same morning my purchases because I rarely get to after work. The supermarket had just opened and I tried quickly through the whole store to come, I feel shopping as an inconvenience and I have to do as always and many other more important things.
finally arrived at the checkout I was surprised that so many other queuing in front of me, so I practiced exercise myself in patience for me not to be angry in the morning about little things like queues. The atmosphere in Berlin supermarkets is always easy rushed to aggressive, large cities on the food hunt can be merciless.
Just one shopper in front of me when it happened. She put her yogurt cup so clumsy on the treadmill, that he fell to the floor and expired. Buy the lady was the aim of all the unspoken hostility of the other supermarket guests. The people rolled their eyes, the already irritated gentleman behind the counter gave her a roll of kitchen paper with the words "for mopping up" in front of the bib.
I must admit that in me deliver the usual pattern.
- I was in a hurry and think about the time delay. Principle: Everything happens to me, even though it actually happened to someone else.
- I wondered how something so stupid could happen. Principle: I am better than others, although I at least once a week a little spill.
- I have great anger potential. Principle: For every little thing go right to the ceiling, though I am actually a peace-loving man.
The Yoga philosophy teaches that it is important to be empathetic with themselves and other living things. But what good is anything if I click on the yoga mat ponder about me but in real life still continue behaving as before. I feel not bad, that I've described above pattern and reactions, human emotions are now times are like. However, I would feel bad if I react inappropriately because of these emotions. This morning I jumped
over my own shadow. I tried the above mechanisms, in which I put to stop. I turned to the lady who helped her wipe up, a fact that I hardly took pains prepared and not even a minute of my time.
What then happened is a miracle: The first thing the lady felt supported and was very glad that someone is helped, she began to smile. What had happened to her was through my condolences not quite so bad. In that I helped her, the other visitors were suddenly in a different mood. Yes but not take so long, one might think. I would have also sometimes can help the other. The type of stroke behind me, I had noticed earlier in the sweets department, smiled at me, even the cashier was reasonably kind to me. In the parking lot waving the lady and I again to say goodbye to.
I am the rest of the day in a very good mood. And I can see many situations, mutual help in which people themselves. Later, when I covered my water bottle in my pocket, she lifts me to someone.
Yoga helps in connecting to connect with their own feelings and to realize that we always decide for yourself how we behave and what we make of situations. There are no set rules, but really it's just as important as we meet as human beings. It is more important how we treat our fellow human beings than what we earn, where we come from or what skills we have.
Yoga is not self-centered. Is there a way to identify yourself and improve your own behavior. And that's the only way to improve the world.

unity of body, mind and soul
Since the beginning of the gay yoga group I have visited many participants in the courses, including many previously have had no contact with the yoga. The most common assumption, and often fear that brought these participants into the first hour, was that the yoga was a matter to bend the body in acrobatic positions, and that it would probably take forever to reach the target of physical flexibility.
It is true that physical exercises are a yoga class. But does this over-emphasis on physicality is not the original purpose of yoga. How did it happen? I think it is closely related to our power company, which also tries to transform the Indian philosophy of yoga in a competition. Often I have myself when visiting yoga centers in this country wondering about the price terms "beginner, intermediate, advanced, suggesting even necessarily on performance. Certainly it is easier to implement in time the physical exercises, and certainly it is good to know as a guide, in which course is going. But this leads to handle that always behaved students and teachers of yoga classes as if they were in a competition.
Back in my groups: the yoga class begins and the participants are then only surprised that my lesson begins with a theoretical part which presents an aspect of yoga philosophy. In further lessons there are however always surprised how gentle and regenerating the yoga exercises, and it takes only several weeks, accepted to the fact that in the exercise of the positions any fixed power levels are, but that the degree of challenge is always chosen themselves. So masterfully sitting yoga mat to newcomers and regular participants, and each mat uses the body-exercises and above all an attentive mind and common sense.
The word "Yoga" can be translated with the word "connection". This means that it is in yoga about things together: Male tension and relaxation, and female, positive and negative. It is also important to connect the body with breathing exercises and meditation, in isolation so the body, but it in its unity. could reach the one then perhaps be called "Advanced".
Practice:
The practical task at the end of the blog entry you want to help, said the theory to try out in practice. Today's exercise is deliberately remote power to perceive the importance of the unity of body, mind and soul.
Take your five minutes for this exercise, five minutes in which you undisturbed other people can be, so please turn off your phone also. Sit in a comfortable position, preferably in the cross-legged. Setting up the spine and close your eyes. Breathe quietly and deeply into the abdomen on and off, as only breathe through the nose. Place your perception from the outside to the inside. Lasse noise from outside can not reach you. to feel the body as the first attempts to capture every detail of the body that you now perceive in this moment -
.
- then attempts to perceive the next your feelings and your soul being. What feelings are at the time to notice.
- Take the next Your world of thoughts, your Mind true. What occupies your mind at the time very often.
- Last let you perform some time, these three different levels as a unit. Imagine how mind, body and soul are connected. You can also stay longer in this state.
to end the practice once a very deep breath and completely back off and slowly open your eyes.
Note: The practical exercises on this blog are always exercise at your own risk and do not replace the guidance of personal attention in yoga classes.
Practice: The practical task at the end of the blog entry you want to help, said the theory to try out in practice.
The exercises are always run in a warmed-up and exercises suitable condition. Physical illnesses (eg, diseases) or specific individual requirements (eg current or permanent physical limitations) is before a practice run with a doctor's practice to be clarified. Abdul Helal is not responsible for the execution of the exercise and their physical or psychological consequences, the responsibility lies with the practitioner explicitly.

Buddhism and Schopenhauer: Rebirth
.
Among the hardest-to-understand parts of his teachings of Buddhism is one of rebirth, because Buddhism is not a "soul" in the sense of other religions know. Since it is of particular interest when the Milindapanha , a Buddhist scripture from the 2nd Jh.vuZtr., This difficult problem with examples is explained. The conference deals with issues that the Greek King Menander, who ruled in the north-western India, turned on the Buddhist monk Nagasena.
asks the king, who is called in Scripture Milinda, the Nagasena point:
If one is born again, is it the same (who died) or is it someone else?
Nagasena said
neither the same nor different. Just as the infant is not the same as the adults, ... as the fresh milk is not identical with the thick milk, so the deceased is not the same as the re-born, and yet together a chain of dharmas (factors of being) in unbroken continuity to each other.
asked Elsewhere, the King
How can the rebirth take place without something (a soul) moves across
Answer:
Exactly as you light a candle to another, or like a verse that was recited by a teacher who is nachgesprochen by the students.
The above quotations (from the Path to Enlightenment, trans. And ed. Helmuth von Glasenapp) are of course no definitive answers but to stimulate further reflection. Ultimately, however, the answer is probably only in spiritual ways, ie inside the meditation to be found.
After Arthur Schopenhauer rebirth and time again is the manifestation of the border (metaphysical) "will", which comes in new existences always expressed. This process is not understood as "souls" (metempsychosis), but in the sense of a permanent renewal of all existence (palingenesis).
does the rest:
the will to live, life is certain. (Schopenhauer)

Eyelid Pitosis Exercises
Buddhism knowledge rather than faith
.
Yesterday I read another saying of the Buddha, the most likely to be unique in the history of religion in its own way:
raised you not for what you have heard, by the mere hearsay, after what has been passed on from one to another, according to collections of sacred traditions, based on assumptions and ertüftelten reasons, not by external considerations, not by deep-rooted beliefs, not after what looks like it might be appropriate, and not in the words of a revered master - but what you yourself as well have known or bad, to take or give up.
(Anguttara Nikaya 3,65,8; Translator H. von Glasenapp)
Although it is also not without faith in Buddhism, but this is where the meaning of "believe" and trust, is not to compare it with "faith" in the Christian sense. Rather, it is in Buddhism, as the above quote shows on their own knowledge. Already it appears that Buddhism is not merely a religion of faith, but a philosophical religion. Also, in my opinion one of the reasons why Arthur Schopenhauer was the Buddhism over all other religions to be preferred.

Arthur Schopenhauer and the Indian religions
Arthur Schopenhauer was the first major Western philosopher of modern times, who had dealt inteniv with religions and philosophies of India. He particularly appreciated the ancient Indian Upanishads and - if she has time available in translations were - the writings of Buddhism. With joy he could find, how this ancient Indian wisdom teachings of his philosophy are identical. More, the Upanishads felt Schopenhauer as the most important and most sublime reading that is possible in the world: it is the consolation of my life and my death will be his.
also to Buddhism Arthur Schopenhauer was a very close relationship, so he called himself and his followers Buddhists .
So it was especially Schopenhauer's credit that by the end of the 19th Century, Buddhism in the German educated middle class and was known far beyond.
Still can Schopenhauer's philosophy contribute significantly to a better understanding of the wisdom teachings that had evolved for thousands of years in India. Despite fundamentally different intellectual traditions has been created by Arthur Schopenhauer, a cultural bridge between East and West. In this sense, the working group "Schopenhauer and Buddhism" and "Arthur - Schopenhauer - Study Group" set up this blog. We hope you will consider participating, to which we invite all interested people to join.
