unity of body, mind and soul

Since the beginning of the gay yoga group I have visited many participants in the courses, including many previously have had no contact with the yoga. The most common assumption, and often fear that brought these participants into the first hour, was that the yoga was a matter to bend the body in acrobatic positions, and that it would probably take forever to reach the target of physical flexibility.

It is true that physical exercises are a yoga class. But does this over-emphasis on physicality is not the original purpose of yoga. How did it happen? I think it is closely related to our power company, which also tries to transform the Indian philosophy of yoga in a competition. Often I have myself when visiting yoga centers in this country wondering about the price terms "beginner, intermediate, advanced, suggesting even necessarily on performance. Certainly it is easier to implement in time the physical exercises, and certainly it is good to know as a guide, in which course is going. But this leads to handle that always behaved students and teachers of yoga classes as if they were in a competition.

Back in my groups: the yoga class begins and the participants are then only surprised that my lesson begins with a theoretical part which presents an aspect of yoga philosophy. In further lessons there are however always surprised how gentle and regenerating the yoga exercises, and it takes only several weeks, accepted to the fact that in the exercise of the positions any fixed power levels are, but that the degree of challenge is always chosen themselves. So masterfully sitting yoga mat to newcomers and regular participants, and each mat uses the body-exercises and above all an attentive mind and common sense.

The word "Yoga" can be translated with the word "connection". This means that it is in yoga about things together: Male tension and relaxation, and female, positive and negative. It is also important to connect the body with breathing exercises and meditation, in isolation so the body, but it in its unity. could reach the one then perhaps be called "Advanced".

Practice:
The practical task at the end of the blog entry you want to help, said the theory to try out in practice. Today's exercise is deliberately remote power to perceive the importance of the unity of body, mind and soul.
Take your five minutes for this exercise, five minutes in which you undisturbed other people can be, so please turn off your phone also. Sit in a comfortable position, preferably in the cross-legged. Lasse noise from outside can not reach you. to feel the body as the first attempts to capture every detail of the body that you now perceive in this moment -

.

- then attempts to perceive the next your feelings and your soul being. What feelings are at the time to notice.

- Take the next Your world of thoughts, your Mind true. What occupies your mind at the time very often.

- Last let you perform some time, these three different levels as a unit. Imagine how mind, body and soul are connected. You can also stay longer in this state.

to end the practice once a very deep breath and completely back off and slowly open your eyes.
